Safety guide on how to use Tinder without the risk of getting scammed

Tinder application, I think you have all heard, if not, I will tell you what it is and how it is used.

Tinder is a smartphone application that has revolutionized the concept of online dating. Specifically, through Tinder, you can meet someone close to you. The principle on which this application work is a simple one. Anyone can sign up, via the Facebook profile and once you have logged in, you can see photos of possible partners, who are in your area. Do you like what you see? Then you swipe right for “Like” and left swipe for “Dislike”. If the one you gave the right swipe to did the same for you, then you have a Match and you can chat.

The online dating network manages to attract over 10 million users daily and is becoming more popular among us. At first, 90 per cent of users of Tinder had an average age of 18-24 years. Only 17 months after launch, 50% of users were young people between the ages of 18-24, and the remaining 50% were of mixed age profile.

Being such a populated network, Tinder, that any social network is also a minefield for digital “predators”.

The specialists from Bitdefender offer us a set of rules, which ensures us smooth navigation on Tinder.
In the following, I present these rules, in short, so that you are safe from danger.

1. Keep your eyes on all four. Beware of fake profiles

If you are a regular user of dating applications, it means that you are familiar with the false profile idea.

On Tinder, as I said, one of the criteria by which your partners are suggested is that of proximity. But that should not calm you down. Just because he is in your area or not, does not mean that he is also a reliable person. Check to see if you have friends or interests in common.

Also, in the applications of socialization for dating runs bots. Bots are fake accounts, which talk to you and urge you to access certain links, which either steal your data or deliver viruses. Usually, bots open the conversation by asking you if you haven’t spoken before. The most frequently targeted are men, who appear to be willing to give in a lot faster in front of an attractive picture.

2. Never play with social engineering!

As I told you at the beginning, to log in and create an account on Tinder, you must use the Facebook account. Once this step is taken, your list of contacts and interests will be scanned. In a way, it’s good, because it serves more efficient match-making, but at the same time, it is a two-edged sword. Because in this way, you risk exposing anyone to find your real Facebook ID, last name and other personal details distributed on other social networks – Linkedin, Twitter and other forums. To protect yourself, a first step would be to make your Facebook account private!

3. Don’t be too generous with your personal information and photos

This rule does not apply to Tinder alone and you should always adhere to it. When you go online, it is best not to leave too many traces, because I am the joy of all scammers.
So, review your behaviour as a user of the internet and social media platforms. Because whatever you leave online, it can be found and used against you. So on Tinder! Do not let the wave, no matter how hot the discussion between you and the other user. Be reluctant and do not share personal information, so simply and also refuse as much as you can offer photographic material, especially nude! Once sent this information and pictures no longer have control over them!

4. Don’t cheat and don’t let yourself be deceived

Many times, especially on Tinder, some people choose to give the right swipe for their simple entertainment, even if it is clear that they have nothing in common with that person. Not infrequently, thus, verbal abuse can be reached. So, keep yourself safe and pay attention to those who seem to not take you seriously. Also, this is a rule that applies and inverse – avoid liking someone, if you find nothing in common with that person!

5. Never open suspicious links!

About bots, which prompts you to open random links, I’ve already told you. But that doesn’t mean that you can only be exposed to dangerous links. You can also find links in the About section. The common descriptions in this section usually come with motorcycles, various hobbies, interests, etc. However, there are some sections of About that promote links to blogs or personal sites. Do not access them, no matter how much your curiosity is ruined. Otherwise, you risk exposing yourself to the risk of viruses.

6. Even if you are proud of your children, do not take pictures with them.

Do you have kids? Congratulations! Are you proud need big, are your greatest joy? Then take care of them! Never take pictures on Tinder with them. I can help you find a good one, but that would not be the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that you expose your children to unnecessary risk. Their pictures could later be used for less well-meaning purposes.

7. The degree of anonymity should be high

It may seem like an effort, but it is better to make efforts and to be safe than to be lazy and risky. On Tinder, Bitdefender advises us to remain as anonymous as possible. For this, you need to make a special Facebook account dedicated, where you can put only a few photos and minimal personal details! Instead of the real name, it is good to use a pseudonym. Also, to protect the identity, when creating the Facebook account using an alternative email address, not the current one, which you usually use.

If you follow these rules, you will be safe and you will enjoy a Tinder experience, devoid of adventures.

You could duplicate entire pages and get penalized in Google. There were also important changes in the copy-paste process. Now the commands are fully functional and the text format is no longer lost in the process. You can now copy titles, paragraphs that result from blocks automatically created by Gutenberg.
